The important not to employ cheaper particle board
Outside rabbit hutches can be built using a combination of wire mesh, metal, and lumber. Usually, three of the sides and the covering (roof) are built using lumber while the last side and the floor are built with an all-wire mesh. If possible, using metal for the sides is ideal due to the fact that it will not decay and will be much easier to clean. When rabbits urinate, it can saturate the lumber, producing a stink that will not occur with metal cages.
It is important not to employ cheaper particle board to save a few dollars since it will decay and distort in wet surroundings.
