At the time of Guccio Gucci’s death, the only saving grace for the Gucci family was the perfumes division and it managed to sell nearly as much and in some instances more than the clothing line. Bankruptcy was avoided by the Gucci company due to their perfumes and accessories line.

The original designs of the Gucci family are still carried on, even though the House of Gucci is now owned by a French company. Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, is the French company, which now owns the House of Gucci and the Gucci group and has managed to bring back the glory and glamor to the Gucci products and businesses.
