How long does it usually take you? Does it take you the whole day or maybe a few minutes with ease? What do you use, Dreamweaver or Frontpage?

Depends on if I already have drafted a design…

I have been using Dreamweaver 8 to get started with the initial css code (just a time saver) and then I tweak it across browsers…then I use Eclipse to create the "chunks" of the template that I pull together in each Page, basically making a site-wise change very easy and quick…

Usually it takes a couple days to code it, test it, and tweak it to run in all browsers in use by the audience.

It is not unusual to take a week or longer fine-tuning the template…..but if you go the graphics intense route of using Adobe Fireworks, etc.. you could probably do it in a day or so…but I like to keep the code light-weight so I choose to use CSS to layout as much of the page as possible…

I have found some sites that claim to have free resume templates, only to find out after I take 20 minutes to fill them in, they want me to pay in order to use them…oh ya, and for some reason Microsoft Word software is not on my computer, otherwise, I would use their resume templates!

There are around 90 pages connected to this template, and it takes over 10 minutes to update them. Is this something to do with the template itself, or the pages?

Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

It sounds like it’s just dreamweaver updating alot of pages. If your pages have alot of graphics on them this will also probably slow it down when it is updating them.

It could also be because your computer does not have alot of memory, you could test this by doing the following:

Try updating a large number of pages but make sure they don’t have much on them – if it takes the same time as it does for the pages you are updating with graphics and everything else it probably is not your computer and is dreamweaver. If however, it is alot quicker at updating the same number of pages then you could try upgrading your computer’s memory.
