Without a doubt, between an applicant who has a pharmacy technician certification and someone who doesn’t have any, a pharmacist wouldn’t have a hard time choosing which one to hire. But to state the obvious, the pharmacist will always choose the certified pharmacy technician. A pharmacist or any employer prefer those individuals that have passed the pharmacy technician certification exam of either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians, even though a high school diploma is all that is needed. Then again, a being certified and finishing a training program are the best combination for a pharmacy technician.
